Fatty Liver Disease

Fatty liver disease occurs when excess fat accumulates in liver cells. It is commonly associated with:

• Obesity
• Diabetes
• High cholesterol
• Alcohol consumption

If untreated, fatty liver can progress to inflammation, fibrosis, and cirrhosis.

Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C

Hepatitis B and C are viral infections that cause liver inflammation and can lead to chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and liver cancer if not treated early.

• Often asymptomatic in early stages
• Detected through blood tests
• Managed with antiviral medications and regular monitoring

Cirrhosis of the Liver

Cirrhosis is the result of long-term liver damage, causing scarring and impaired liver function.

Common causes include:

• Chronic hepatitis
• Alcohol-related liver disease
• Fatty liver disease

Complications may include:

• Portal hypertension
• Ascites (fluid accumulation)
• Internal bleeding
• Liver failure

Biliary Disorders

Biliary disorders affect the bile ducts and gallbladder and may cause:

• Jaundice
• Abdominal pain
• Itching
• Infections such as cholangitis

Conditions include bile duct stones, strictures, and blockages.
